Patient Information in Darwin
Billing and Service information
At Acacia Podiatry, we’re dedicated to helping Darwin locals stay active and free from foot pain. We offer a range of billing options to support patients from all backgrounds, including:
- Private billing
- Health fund rebates
- Third-party funding, e.g. Medicare, DVA, NDIS, or insurance providers
If your GP has diagnosed you with a chronic condition, diabetes, or vascular disease, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan. A GP referral is required for Medicare or DVA-funded podiatry services.
For more information, please contact our clinic when booking your appointment.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change, but we ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- Cancellations within 12–24 hours of your appointment incur a 50% fee.
- Missed appointments or cancellations within 12 hours incur the full appointment fee.
- Third parties (e.g., Medicare, DVA, NDIS) do not cover missed appointment fees.
- Reminders are sent more than 24 hours prior to confirm your appointment.
Payment of any outstanding cancellation fees is required before further consultations can be booked.
Work cover & motor vehicle accident claims
Your podiatry treatment may be covered through third-party funding such as the NDIS, Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), or insurance claims (including WorkCover or motor vehicle injury claims).
To access this funding, you’ll need a referral from your GP that relates to your injury or condition.
Before your first appointment, please provide:
- Your claim or file number
- The contact details of your case manager (not required for DVA patients)
Providing these details before your visit helps us process your claim and avoid any private payment charges.
If you’re unsure about your eligibility for podiatry coverage, please contact our Darwin or Palmerston clinics. Our friendly team will be happy to help and answer any questions.
