If you’re GP has diagnosed you as chronically ill, having diabetes or suffering from a vascular disease, Medicare will pay for a percentage of your podiatry fees under an Enhanced Primary Care plan.

To be eligible for the Medicare rebate, you will need to get a referral from your GP. Alternatively, the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) covers you for podiatry services, however you will need a referral from your GP.

Work cover & motor vehicle accident claims 
 
If you’ve been injured onsite at work, you can claim podiatry services on Work Cover. To access this you will be required to get a referral from your GP and a valid claim number that’s relevant to your injury. At Acacia Podiatry, we also accept patients that have suffered in motor vehicle accidents. What should I bring to my podiatrist appointment? 

If this is your first visit to a podiatrist, we request a few documents from you to help make your consultation a smooth experience. We will require any related paperwork including medical reports, medical history, referrals, third-party information, including NDIS and WorkCover documentation. If you have private health insurance, please bring the card to receive a rebate for the appointment. Our podiatrist may also ask to assess your current and past footwear as well as any previous orthotic devices you may have used.
